Multimedia
There are many different types of multimedia that can be used to show the media department, here are some examples;
Video – This would include adverts, music videos and YouTube videos. This will be used to show examples what you can do in media. I will use my music video I am creating for my coursework. This would meet the department’s requirements because it will entertain and inform the students an parents of what media has o offer. Using my music video will be a very good example of the media department because it shows what you can do in media.
Text – This would include newspapers,
magazines etc. Text would be used to tell written information about the media
department. This would meet the department requirements because will inform and educate the students by telling them about the department and what it is about. This would be aimed more at
parents or older students. This is because they would be the more likely to
read about the department, whereas the younger students would want to watch the
videos and see the fun side of media.
Still Images – This would include photos,
drawings and paintings. Still images would be used to show images of the videos
that are made in media and the media rooms so you can see what you will be
working with and to see what you can do. This would meet the requirements of
the department because it will entertain and could inform the students. It also shows you will work with in media and it takes a
couple of seconds to look at the pictures and it will draw attention for the
students.
Audio – This would include songs, sounds
etc. Audio will be used in the in music video of the actual song. This would
meet the department’s requirements because it would show that the music video
is in sync with the lip syncing, this shows that the media department is of a
high standard. This would meet the requirements of the department because sound
would make the video a lot better. This would entertain the
students, when they hear music they would more likely to see what it is or be
more interested.

Database Evaluation
For this assignment I had to create a
database that can store records for a film club. I have created a database that
does so.
Tables
Firstly the data I used fro the database
were in two notebook documents, I had to export the information into a members,
payments, reviews and films table that I had to create. Then I created forms so
the users of the database can put their own details in the database.
Forms
I created a members and payments form, I
created a members form so the users can put in their own information and be
registered into the form. A query I created runs to append the data into the
database. I created a payments form so the users can put in their payments
details into the database. Also a query runs to append the data into the
database.
Validation
rules and Macros
I put validation rules into my database,
by doing this I had to create a macro so all my validation rules worked
and so error messages pop up. I checked to see if all my validation
rules in my forms all work. For this I missed out fields of my form and clicked
‘enter’ an error message came up telling me I need to fill in all the
fields. Also I checked put my age as 12
to see if my other validation rule is working. When I clicked ‘enter’ again an
error message came up saying I am too young to join.
Buttons
and Queries
I have put a buttons in my forms so when you type in all the
correct information you click on it and a query runs to append all your data into
the members table. I
also checked all of my buttons in my switchboard work as well, by doing this I
simply clicked on them and seen if they took me to the correct table or not.
Also I checked my button in my payments form worked which one takes you back to my switchboard.
I needed to check if my button works in my payments table, when I click on it
all my payments details append into my payments table. When I did this I
checked in my payments table to see if all the information has appended into
the table in the database.
Reports
A report is used to show data from a
certain area from the database. I created a report to show all the film reviews
that the members have written. a report is very useful in this situation
because you do not need a large amount of information from your database.
Improvements
I have been suggested to make a couple
improvements to my database, these were to create a switchboard so the users
will b able to get to the forms a lot quicker. The other improvement was to
create a payments form so it would allow users to put in their payments into
the database. I have put screenshots to show that I have done
this. Also i could put passwords to restrict certain parts of the database for users. i would do this so the users will not be able access the tables of the database and be able to mess up the database.
